About a dozen members of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church watched as Rev. Ginny Wilder blessed three four-legged members of local law enforcement. John Lockwood, who heads up the church’s Fuzzy Friends outreach ministry, said, “This is the first time we have invited the K-9 units. We felt they needed prayers … and this would be a good time to bring the community together to do this.”

Rev. Dr. Carlton Eversley, a local pastor and civil rights activist, died Monday morning at the age of 62. Eversley was the longtime pastor of Dellabrook Presbyterian Church and well-respected member of the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity (MCWSV).

On Sept. 28, from 12-6 p.m., the 10th annual Unity Festival will take place at 619 E. Washington Drive in High Point. The festival is brought to you by the Washington Street Business Association and the TMG (The Mind Group) Network.
