THE CHRONICLE
Winston-Salem Writers in collaboration with 40+ Stage Company presents the 14th edition of its 10-Minute Play Festival. Six plays by playwrights from across North Carolina will be presented by local community actors and directors. Playwrights submit scripts in April to be judged with the top six selected to be produced.
Performances are June 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.n. and June 8 at 2 p.m. at the Intergenerational Center for the Arts and Wellness, 114 30th St., Winston-Salem. Free parking is available in the lot conveniently located next to the venue.
Tickets are $14.95 and may be purchased online at https://www.wswriters.org/10-minute-play.
The six featured plays are:
“Are We Jackals?” by Jacob Gordner – Trinity
“Dancing to Remember” by Jim Wright – Winston-Salem
“It’s Just a Date” by Shelley Stoloroff Segal – Greensboro
“Malaya and The Freedom Song” by Joey Kirkman – Winston-Salem
“The Moment Before” by Samantha Eppes – Cary
“The Readers” by Richard Howell – Asheville
Although each play is just ten minutes long, the playwrights pack every minute with captivating dialogue that moves the play quickly from opening lines to final bow. This is a great opportunity to see a variety of plays and topics written by up-and-coming playwrights in North Carolina.
