One church has decided to take the Word of God outside the four walls of the physical church and take it on the road.

Greater Faith Empowerment Church (GFEC) of Lexington has added a monthly pop-up Bible study to their regular schedule of events. Pastor Tony L. Neal Sr., the senior pastor of GFEC, and his wife, Michelle Neal, feel the additional Bible study will help propel the Gospel.

“We need to spread the Word of God and advance the Kingdom,” said Tony L. Neal Sr. “It’s time to lead people to the Lord and to help them reach their God-given potential. We want to take the Word to as many different areas as we can.”

For the foreseeable future, the pop-up locations will be at various locations in Winston-Salem, even though the church is based out of Lexington. Both Neal and his wife are Winston-Salem natives, so expanding Bible study into the Twin City was only natural.

“What better place to start than in the area we were raised?” Neal asked. “We hope to pop up in other surrounding areas too; Winston-Salem is just where we decided to start.”

When asked what made Neal’s teaching style relevant, Michelle Neal said, “His teaching is so relatable.  He tailors his messages to his audiences. Everyone from the children to the seasoned saints can understand the biblical concepts he teaches. He definitely has a voice that needs to be heard.”

Their next pop-up Bible study in Winston-Salem will be Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Stafford Place Apartments, 1140 Stafford Place Circle, in the movie theater (next to the leasing office).

Neal hopes that people leave with a sense of purpose and understanding.

“I want people to walk out with a greater understanding of God’s word and with something to help them be and have everything God has destined for them.”
