Carr back with hot new CD
Special to The Chronicle
Gospel star Kurt Carr is back and more popular than ever.
His new single, “I’ve Seen Him Do It,” is the #2 Christian & Gospel song on iTunes. The soul-stirring testimonial song is the debut single from the disc, “Bless the House,” the seventh project from Kurt Carr & The Kurt Carr Singers.
Fans selected “I’ve Seen Him Do It” as the first single. In October, Verity Gospel Music Group ran an online poll that allowed fans to vote for either “I’ve Seen Him Do It” or “Bless This House” as the first single.
“I think this song will touch and inspire believers everywhere because every believer has seen God do miraculous things,” says Carr.
“Bless the House” is a double disc CD that the artist says “is a continuum of who I am.” It will hit stores on Jan. 22, 2013.
“I believe I’ve come into what my niche and what my purpose is,” says Carr. “And that is to make music that edifies the body and blesses the church of Jesus Christ.”
Before the CD’s release, on Jan. 19, Carr will receive the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award at the 28th Annual Stellar Awards. Carr says that this is an especially humbling honor. He received his big break when the late James Cleveland hired him as a keyboard player.
