“The Magic Flute” will be presented on March 13, 15 and 17 at the Stevens Center of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

The Piedmont Opera will hold a Meet the Cast Party in the student lounge at The Reaves Center,  Winston-Salem Sate University, 601 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. WSSU is one of Piedmont Opera’s education partners. The event will be 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. The event will feature appetizers with select cast members and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Mozart’s last opera.

Hailed by the South Florida Classical for her “luminous tones” and “lush voice,” soprano Brittany Renee Robinson made her Florida Grand Opera main stage debut as Musetta in “La Bohème” in 2012, previously participating in the young artists program as Zerlina in “Don Giovanni,” Yvette in “La Rondine,” and the Page in “Rigoletto.”  Last season she debuted the title role of Lakmé with Opera Theatre of the Rockies, and Tytania in Britten’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” with Opera on the Avalon. This season she will be featured as the Soprano Soloist in “Haydn’s Creation” with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, as well as return to the role of the Queen of the Night with Piedmont Opera’s production of “The Magic Flute.”

Robinson has performed with such companies as Chautauqua Opera, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, Crested Butte Music Festival, Light Opera of New York, Sounds of South Dakota, Bay Area Summer Opera Theatre Institute (BASOTI), The American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS), Peabody Opera, and the Baltimore Municipal Opera.  Other career highlights for Robinson include the Queen of the Night, (with the legendary Samuel Ramey as Sarastro) and Pamina in “Die Zauberflöte,” Adele in “Die Fledermaus,” Blondchen in “Die Entführung aus dem Serail”, Lucia in “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Sr. Constance in “Dialogues des Carmelites,” Cleopatra in “Guilio Cesare,” Olympia & Antonia in “The Tales of Hoffmann,” Alice Ford in “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” and Mrs. Nordstrom in “A Little Night Music. ”

Robinson received her bachelor’s and graduate degrees from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University and is residing in New York City.
