Heath to be affirmed Saturday
The Holy Apostolic Affirmation to the Apostleship for Apostle-Designate John Henry Heath, presiding prelate of Greater Higher Ground Ministries Worldwide, will take place on Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 300 North Cherry St.
Arch-bishop Freddie B. Marshall Jr. will serve as chief celebrant. The public is invited to witness the service.
Heath is a highly sought-after and respected man of God and gospel performer. He is also an acclaimed preacher, teacher and mentor. In 1982, Heath was ordained as a minister at Ambassador Cathedral under the leadership of Bishop F.D. Patterson. In 1988, Patterson saw fit to ordain and consecrate Heath as an elder in the Congress of the Ambassadors for Christ Revival Inc.
A professional gospel singer and actor, Heath was one of the lead singers with David Allen and the Ambassadors for Christ Church Choir. He has recorded such songs as “He Made It Possible,” “Try Jesus,” “What Shall Separate Me,” “I’m Going Home Soon” and “He Will Set You Free.”
Bishop Heath’s prayer each day is,“ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
