ESPN to air Chris Paul’s annual bowling fundraiser
Forsyth County native Chris Paul recruited some of his celebrity pals to take part in a bowling fundraising event last week.
The fifth annual Chris Paul PBA All-Stars Invitational was held at downtown Los Angeles’ Lucky Strike LA Live. The event raises money for Paul’s CP3 Foundation, which funds a number of initiatives that “enhance and promote education, health, sports and social responsibility for youth and families.”
Paul, who is an accomplished bowler, participated in the bowling tournament along with his Los Angeles Clippers teammate Blake Griffin, actors Jesse Williams, Kevin Hart, Chris Hardwick and Quinton Aaron and athletes LaMarr Woodley, Terrell Owens and Jalen Rose. Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) stars Norm Duke, Chris Barnes and Missy Parkin also took part.
Paul started the event five years ago in Winston-Salem. This marked the second year it was held in Los Angeles. The previous two events were held in New Orleans, when Paul played with the New Orleans Hornets.
ESPN will air the event on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 3) at 4 p.m.
