WSSU bowlers look for their footing
The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (34-14, 34-14 CIAA) closed out the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North/South Round-Up with a 4-2 record in the recent Baker Games competition in Suffolk, Va. With the effort, the Lady Rams finished the meet with an 11-7 record and placed fifth at the event.
The Lady Rams opened the day on a down note with a 632-590 loss to Elizabeth City State, but the team soon got things rolling with four straight wins. The team took consecutive wins over Bowie State (663-630), Virginia Union (567-560), Chowan (580-505), and Lincoln (Pa.) (662-531). The team closed out the day on a down note, falling to Virginia State (607-542).
For her effort, WSSU freshman Kia Edgerton was named the WSSU Team MVP for the tournament. She totaled 846 total pins in six team matches played and averaged 141 pins per match.
The Lady Rams will return to action on March 15 in Fayetteville at the CIAA Southern Division Meet.
