Troop to hold dog show
Girl Scout Junior Troop 40525 invites all Girl Scouts and their dogs to participate in a dog show to benefit Stepping Stones Canine Rescue. The Troop is hosting the event as part of its Bronze Award activities.
The event will take place Saturday, May 4 from 3-5 p.m. at the Outdoor Chapel of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 2575 Parkway Drive.
A $5 fee is required to enter dogs; registration starts at 3 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded in seven categories – smallest, largest, cutest, ugliest, coolest tail, best trick and best overall, with a $25 gift card to a local pet store as the top prize. Judging begins at 4 p.m.
Dog trainer Geralyn Kelly from Elite Canine Dog Training will be on hand for a dog obedience demonstration. Stepping Stones Canine Rescue is a charitable and educational non-profit corporation.
Its volunteers share an enthusiasm for dogs and support a common mission: to rescue, protect and provide sanctuary for abandoned, stray and neglected dogs.
Stepping Stones also helps to find adoptive families for rescue dogs. For more information, call Bonnie Davis at 336-399-8274 or Leslie Underwood at 336-414-9979.
