Museum to host BBQ
Reynolda House Museum of American Art will celebrate the start of summer with “Summertime Social: Backyard Barbecue and Brews with Polecat Creek,” an outdoor, after-hours event June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The event is part of the museum’s ongoing Reynolda After Hours series, designed for working adults and young families. Admission is $10; $8 for members of the museum and students. Guests can participate in outdoor games like corn hole and Bocce ball, enjoy tastings of craft beers, and try barbecue samplings from award-winning chef Tim Grandinetti, head chef at Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & Bar.
The band Polecat Creek, featuring Kari Sickenberger and Laurelyn Dossett, will perform on Sunset Hill, overlooking the Lake Katharine wetlands. The folk-roots band, a regular on NPR’s
“Prairie Home Companion,” recently released its third recording, “Ordinary Seasons.” Spring House Restaurant, Kitchen & Bar will provide samples of barbecue chicken and pork sliders, and will have barbecue plates available for purchase. A cash bar will also be available.
