I am so glad that voters in Winston-Salem’s Northeast Ward will have the opportunity to vote for an outstanding representative this fall. I have worked with Brenda Diggs numerous times on several different community service committees over the years, and she is an intelligent, wise, thoughtful, fair and level-headed individual who is concerned about Winston-Salem and all its residents. This is the type of representation the Northeast Ward needs and deserves, and I strongly encourage voters to support Brenda Diggs for City Council.

I fully support Mrs. Brenda Diggs’ candidacy for Winston-Salem City Council, as she brings a wealth of experiences, resources and compassion that will help move the Northeast Ward in the right direction.

Growing up, I got to see Mrs. Diggs in action. A dedicated church worker, she continuously invested her time and energy into ensuring that the needs of the people were always met. Combining her business expertise and her love of community, Mrs. Diggs has always been able to use her capital and connections in a way that benefitted those who were without any. She believes that the opportunities she has been given are not just for her; they are for everyone.

At 31, I understand the importance of young adults investing in the life of this city to make it the best Winston-Salem possible. However, many young people have bemoaned the lack of jobs and a social infrastructure that supports us. I am grateful that Mrs. Diggs has always shared her profound business knowledge and sage wisdom with us down through the years. While she has encouraged us to begin our own businesses and supported our endeavors, I know that she will also keep the needs of young adults in this city as one of her priorities and concerns.

The political climate of our state is changing. We are, indeed, living in some interesting days. Many are concerned and rightfully so. However, I have no doubt that Mrs. Brenda Diggs will represent the Northeast Ward with the transparency, energy and wisdom necessary to propel the city forward.
