On Thursday, Nov. 16 nearly two dozen students, teachers, administrators and other members of the community came together to discuss race relations, and the impact institutional racism has on the classroom setting. The open discussion was held at the Central Library and was hosted by the Forsyth County Association of Educators (FCAE).

FCAE is a local affiliate of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) and the National Education Association (NEA).  Membership is open to all employees. Representatives from each school meet on the second Wednesday of each month. Throughout the school year FCAE will be hosting open forum on a variety of topics. In the past FCAE has invited state, and local elected officials to share their thoughts on the education system.

For more information contact FCAE president Ronda Mays by calling 336-794-3123 or by stopping by the FACE office located at 1399 Ashleybrook Lane, Suite 130.
