Start now to prepare entries for the 2023 Senior Games/Silver Arts

Senior Games/SilverArts has determined its events and deadline schedules for the 2023 competition. Mark your calendar now for these important dates. It’s not too early to start working on your entries to the SilverArts competitions.
*January 20, 2023, 10 a.m. – noon, Senior Games/SilverArts kickoff at the Hanes Hosiery Recreation Center. Come visit sponsor booths, learn about the various competitions you can enter, try your hand at a few of the games, such as corn hole or pickleball, and possibly win some great door prizes. This is also when you can pick up your registration form to enter the 2023 games and have any questions answered that you may have. Bring a friend and challenge each other to bring home a medal.
*March 10 is the deadline to enter the literary competition. Poetry, short story, essay and memoir/life experience are accepted. Entries are bound into an anthology for sale after judging is complete.
*March 31, 11 a.m. Senior Games/SilverArts Opening Ceremonies at the Marina at Salem Lake. Enjoy visiting with other Senior Gamers, lunch and entertainment leading up to the lighting of the Olympic flame to open the 2023 games.
*March and April all SilverArts entries will be on display at the downtown Central Library. Come see all the handcrafts, photography, art and literary entries from our very talented seniors.
*May 19 will be the Performing Arts competition, Redemption Church, 400 Harvey Street. Do you sing, dance, play a musical instrument, or perform dramatic or humorous skits? You’ve got plenty of time to hone those performance skills to get ready to compete in this exciting evening of entertainment.
Start preparing today to compete in the 2023 Senior Games/SilverArts! Remember, entries to SilverArts must have been created after March 10, 2021, to qualify, and you must be age 50 by December 31. 2023.
