*The Downtown Jazz Concert on July 28 will feature Blake Aaron and Will Donote with opening act Titus Gant. Concerts are held at Corpening Plaza, 237 W. 1st St., from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

*July 28-30 Stained Glass Theatre presents “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” at The Stained Glass Playhouse, 4401 Indiana Ave. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 3 p.m. This musical is based on the book by Mark Twain with music and lyrics by Roger Miller. *July 28-30, the Camel City Playhouse presents “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” a comedic musical. They are located at 110 W. 7th Street in the Arts District. On-street parking on Trade Street and Liberty Street is available, parking garage on the corner of Cherry St and 6th St, and on-street parking is free after 6 pm and on the weekends. *July 29, 7 p.m., A special bossa nova ensemble of Camel City Jazz Orchestra will perform classics of the genre featuring vocalist Martha Bassett singing in the original Portuguese in the auditorium of SECCA, 750 Marguerite Drive. *July 30, 3 p.m., Wanderers Stars: SongsThat Illuminate Our Path Toward Home. Part of Music Carolina’s Summer Fest, this concert will be at Salem College Fine Arts Center, Shirley Retical Hall. *The annual Gears & guitars returns for its tenth year to Bailey Park with a weekend of free live music to accompany one of the country’s most prestigious cycling events. Aug. 4 will include a drag race-style street sprints down 4th Street and live music from Cracker and Nine Days. On Aug. 5 you can watch pros and amateurs compete on the legendary WS Classic with the evening concert featuring Soul Asylum and Dishwalla.
