WSSU Men’s Basketball announces 2024-25 schedule

Winston-Salem State University men’s basketball team revealed its 2024-25 season schedule on Thursday morning. Highlights of the season include playing in the Virgin Island Tournament, Dec. 13-15 and the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-Off Challenge, Dec. 19-20.

WSSU will open the season in the Conference Challenge on Nov. 8-9 facing Shepherd University and Gannon University, respectively.

The men’s basketball team will welcome back their fans to the C.E. Gaines Center for their home opener on Nov.16 against Francis Marion University. On Nov. 20, Belmont Abbey College will be at WSSU to compete against the Rams. They will close out the month at home on Nov. 26 facing Lander University.  

As December rolls in, WSSU will welcome Carolina Christian College on Dec. 9.

Bringing in the new year, the Rams will start on the road at Elizabeth City State University on Jan. 4. WSSU will stay on the road taking on Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia, on Jan. 6. Men’s basketball is back home on Jan. 11 hosting Bluefield State University, then Lincoln University (Pa.) on Monday, Jan. 13. WSSU will host Claflin University on Saturday, Jan. 18, before hosting Fayetteville State University on Jan. 20. The Rams will hit the road on Jan. 22 to head to Shaw University in Raleigh. On Monday, Jan. 27, the Rams will host Virginia Union before heading to Charlotte to compete against Johnson C. Smith on Jan. 30.

WSSU will begin the month on the road to Salisbury to battle Livingstone on Feb. 1.  On Feb. 3 the Rams will be back home playing against the Bowie State Bulldogs. WSSU will head south to Orangeburg, South Carolina, on Feb. 8 to face Claflin University. Johnson C. Smith will meet the Rams at home on Feb. 11, and then on Thursday, Feb. 13, the Rams will travel to Fayetteville State University to compete. The Rams will end their season at home with the last two games before the tournament, playing against Shaw University on Feb. 20 and Livingstone on Feb. 22.  

The CIAA Tournament will take place in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Royal Farms Arena.
