Partnership for Prosperity of United Way of Forsyth County is proud to announce a collaborative effort with City Lights Ministry to support families in the Salem Gardens community through the Salem Gardens Bed Drive Campaign. This initiative aims to provide beds and bedding accessories to more than 60 families, improving their living conditions and contributing to their overall health and well-being.

City Lights Ministry has committed to providing more than 60 beds along with delivery services for families in need within Salem Gardens. This partnership will ensure that families in the community will have a comfortable and supportive place to rest, which is vital for physical and emotional health.

Students from Winston-Salem State University as well as staff from United Way of Forsyth County will join the efforts by assisting with the assembly and delivery of the beds. Their involvement underscores the strong spirit of service and community engagement that defines this initiative.  Their involvement underscores the strong spirit of service and community engagement that defines this initiative.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support of City Lights Ministry and the enthusiastic participation of United Way of Forsyth County staff and Winston-Salem State students. This collaboration will make a significant difference in the lives of many families in Salem Gardens,” said Paula McCoy, program director of Partnership for Prosperity.

“Winston-Salem State University is proud to be part of this initiative, and our students are eager to contribute to the well-being of the Salem Gardens community,” said John Kirby, vice chancellor of advancement, Winston-Salem State University.

Many families in Salem Gardens face significant challenges, including unsafe living conditions, health disparities, and limited access to essential services. Providing beds and bedding accessories will address a basic but critical need, helping families build better lives and promoting their long-term well-being.

The Partnership for Prosperity invites local businesses, organizations, and community members to get involved in this vital initiative. The support of the community is essential and can come in many forms, including discounts on bedding, donations of items, or monetary contributions to help purchase these items.
