This upcoming week, The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem will be hosting volunteer opportunities and workshops available to members of the community. On the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, The Shepherd Center will be hosting a Caregiver Support Group to provide a safe space for caregivers of people living with dementia to develop a support system, explore ways of coping, and learn about resources.
They will also be holding a three-session workshop, Retirement Reimagined, on May 13, 20, and 27, to help those with the process of planning and transitioning into their retirement. The session costs $40 and covers resource materials and refreshments.

On every second and third Saturday, there will be volunteer clean-up efforts ongoing at the Happy Hill Cemetery from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Ninth to 12th graders are encouraged to help to get service hours, and volunteers are advised to wear sturdy shoes, bring gloves, and yard equipment.
