A New Era?
Aggie high-jumper wins Duke Invitational event
Nakita Gray has added a new dimension to the North Carolina A&T women’s track and field. The Aggies now have a high jumper.
Gray jumped 5-feet, 8-inches to win the women’s high jump at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. She has consistently finished in the top three of high jump events during the outdoor season. She now fits into the objective of having an overall program. Gray’s jump on Saturday gives her the best jump in the MEAC this season.
Roshel Bygraves also had a nice performance in the 400 meters. She finished fourth in 55.50. The junior finished below her best time of the season, a 55.01, run at the Shamrock XVII on March 14. Brittanie Morris placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.98. She qualified for the final with a 14.75 preliminary time.
The Aggies will host their first track meet of the 2013 outdoor season this weekend. The Aggie Invitational starts April 12 at A&T’s Irwin Belk Track. The field events start at 1 p.m., and the first running event starts at 4 p.m. On Saturday, both running and field events begin at 10 a.m.
