The Association of Chief Academic Officers of the Southern States consists of provosts and vice presidents for Academic Affairs from more than 800 public and private, comprehensive and research universities in 11 southern states and Latin America.

“I look forward to working with chief academic officers from other institutions,” she said, “It also provides a great opportunity for Bennett College to network and partner with other institutions which have similar goals and missions.”

Blackwell was appointed to her current position at Bennett in July 2012. Prior to her arrival in Greensboro, she had served as vice president for Academic Affairs at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg and Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh.
