Brown to preach at anniversary service
Friendship Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Stacey L. Frazier’s Sixth Annual Anniversary on Sunday, May 26 at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Cardes H. Brown Jr., pastor of New Light Baptist Church in Greensboro.
Frazier is the son of Dr. George and Patricia Frazier and an alumnus of James Benson Dudley High School. A graduate of Morehouse College, Frazier was conferred the Doctor of Divinity degree by the Apex School of Theology in Durham.
He was licensed to preach at New Light Baptist on December 27, 1987, under the pastorate of Dr. Brown. He is the former pastor of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Pelham and former associate pastor of the New Light.
Dr. Brown accepted the calling of God to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in the 1960s. He was licensed to preach by the Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Tarboro and ordained by the Old Eastern Association. During his 39 years in the ministry, Dr. Brown has pastored several churches, including the Mt. Gilbert Baptist in Scotland Neck, Jerusalem Baptist Church in Whitakers, White Oak Baptist Church in Enfield and Elm Grove Baptist Church in Reidsville.
He has led New Light since 1975.
