In response to the need for disaster assistance in the wake of Hurricane Helene, the Carolina Classic Fair is partnering with local organizations and businesses to collect food and school supplies donations during special days at the fair.

Opening Weekend, Oct. 4, 5 and 6: A truck will be located at the main gate to collect much-needed items for storm relief efforts in the North Carolina mountains. Items will be collected from gate opening time until 8 p.m. each of the three days.

The Carolina Classic Fair is partnering with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department for the collection initiative. The Sheriff’s Department will monitor collections and handle delivery of the items to areas in need. Donations will not result in free admission to the fair.

All items will be accepted, but the following are in greatest need:

*Water

*Baby Formula

*Diapers (Baby/Toddler/Adult)

*Individually Packaged Snacks

*Batteries

*Trash Bags

*Band Aids

*Toothbrushes/Toothpaste

*Washcloths/Towels

*Socks (All sizes/New)

*Dog and Cat Food

*Disinfectant Wipes

Deer Park® Spring Water School Day, Monday, Oct. 7: Schools supplies will be collected and 75% will be shared with affected areas of the mountain region and 25% will remain in Forsyth County. On School Day, fairgoers who bring three new and packaged school supplies each will receive free admission to the fair.

Crisis Control Ministry’s Fair Food Drive, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fair attendees can donate five non-perishable food items and will receive one free admission ticket to the fair for that day only. Also includes free admission to the WBFJ \concert, featuring Colton Dixon, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.

Suggested items are: canned meats, canned vegetables, dried or canned beans, instant potatoes and instant grits – anything that is shelf-stable and not in glass jars. Volunteers and trucks will be located at each gate to collect the food and distribute the tickets. 

Drive-by drop off locations for those who are not attending the fair are Gate 7, located on Shorefair Drive, and Gate 11, located on 27th/28th Street

Crisis Control Ministry is supporting Hurricane Helene relief efforts and is sharing food from its warehouse to be distributed to the impacted region. In addition, it will be providing support, including food and prescription medication, to those who are impacted and displaced to Forsyth and Stokes counties.
