After a cell phone video showing a 15-year-old being taken to the ground with excessive force by an officer with the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD), the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity (MCWSV) has called for full disclosure and transparency from the WSPD.

Diaw’s fondness for repairing things followed him through high school and now the 20-year-old has turned that passion into his own business, 88 Repairs.

As the principal at Kimberly Park Elementary, Baker made a name for herself as a passionate educator who was willing to go above and beyond to ensure her students had what they needed to succeed. Now Baker is looking to take that same passion and energy to the N.C. General Assembly.
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Board of Education has named Tricia McManus interim superintendent. McManus will fill the vacancy left by Dr. Angela Hairston who announced her resignation last month.
