In cities across the country, bridges often represent a dividing line for communities. As part of the organization’s celebration of 100 years of service, last weekend the United Way of Forsyth County hosted “Bridging 52,” an event designed to blur that dividing line and bring the entire community together.
Earlier this week the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem (HAWS) gave an update on the renovations at Crystal Towers. According to residents, not much has been done to improve the living conditions inside the aging 11-story highrise.
Since 1962 Senior Services Meals-on-Wheels program has delivered over seven million meals to older adults in Forsyth County. Senior Services is grateful for the thousands of volunteers who have given their time to not only deliver nutritious meals, but also share meaningful moments of human connection with older people who need them.
When making a list of dominant athletes, names like Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and Tiger Woods are just a few that come to mind. If she continues on the path she’s been on for the past two years, soon there will be another athlete that will be associated with dominance: Saleia Stowe.
