Chef J’Avia Scents opens two new locations

Chef J’Avia, owner of Chef J’Avia Scents, took a step closer to becoming known worldwide earlier this week when she opened her second and third locations.
Chef J’Avia, who was named Youth of the Year at The Chronicle’s Community Service Awards earlier this year, makes and sells her own line of organic scented candles. J’Avia, who is only 10 years old, said the idea to start her own business selling candles came from her joy and passion for cooking. And with help from her family and friends, earlier this year J’Avia turned her passion into a profitable business when she opened her kiosk in the Marketplace Mall, and in no time word of J’Avia’s homemade candles spread like wildfire.
Posts on the J’Avia Scents official Facebook page show customers raving about the smell of the candles and the wonderful customer service they received from J’Avia when they visited the kiosk. Other posts on social media show customers traveling as far as Virginia just to get a whiff of Chef J’Avia’s one-of-a-kind candles.
Looking to build on that success, on Monday, August 5, J’Avia opened a second location inside Hanes Mall, and on Wednesday, August 7, she opened her third location at Rock Creek Grocery store in Eden. Although the Hanes Mall and Rock Creek locations are up and running, Chef J’Avia Scents will continue to operate in the Marketplace Mall location as well. J’Avia is also looking to hire sales associates to help her ensure everything runs smoothly.
“I’m really excited to have this second location and to be opening at Rock Creek,” J’Avia said. “I’m really excited and happy about being able to provide jobs for people in the community.”
