Deejay/comedian to host weekend fundraiser
B Daht, a local radio personality and comedian, will host the Transformed Lives Third Annual 5K Fun Walk on Saturday, June 1. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is a fundraiser for the faith-based nonprofit.
A Winston-Salem State University alumnus, B Daht (Brian McLaughlin) is a popular on-air personality at hip hop powerhouse 102 Jamz. He has appeared on national television programs like “Maury” and VH1’s “I Love New York: Season 2.”
He is a co-founder of the “Freestyle Funny Comedy Show” and regularly performs at the Comedy Zone in Greensboro and other comedy clubs throughout the region. The colorful entertainer gives back through his D.A.H.T Foundation, which works to inspire at-risk teens.
The Fun Walk, which will begin and end at the Transformed Lives Community Resource Center, 2610 New Walkertown Rd., will also feature live music by the Gospel Stylistics, fun stations for kids and a cookout.
Proceeds from the event will help Transformed Lives establish an Employment Training Lab to help hard-to-employ local residents.
Pre-registration is $25 and $30 on the day of the walk. Register at www.transformedlivesws.com or by calling 336-293-7959.
