Delta Arts hosts inaugural benefit concert with Robert Young, quilt exhibit on display through Dec. 31
Fall is starting out to be a busy time for Delta Arts Center.
Robert Young Benefit Concert, Saturday, Oct. 26, 4-5 p.m.
“I can hardly contain my excitement for the inaugural Benefit Concert featuring saxophonist Robert Young,” said Whitney Harness. “This event is so much more than just a night of music; it’s a chance for our community to come together and show how much we value the Delta Arts Center. Your support is crucial in helping us continue our mission of nurturing creativity and enriching lives through the arts.”
Immerse yourself in an evening of enchanting saxophone melodies and captivating performances that celebrate the power of music and creativity of Robert Young. With an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator, Robert has performed with world-renowned ensembles such as the PRISM Quartet, The Crossing, and the Charlotte Symphony. His collaborations include performing on the GRAMMY Award-winning album Gavin Bryars: The Fifth Century, described by The New York Times as “superb” and “eloquent.” Robert will be joined by Dmitri Vorobiev on piano and Stephanie Patterson, bassoon.

“Friendships: Colors of Life” on view through December 31
Delta Arts Center held an opening reception on Oct. 17 for its new quilt exhibit, “Friendships: Colors of Life,” which celebrates the artistry of quilting and the connections it fosters among us all. The evening included an artist talk that offered deeper insights into the world of quilting.
This exhibition honors the rich tradition of quilting, showcasing the dedication of various quilters who create quilts for important causes, including disaster relief. The exhibit features works by several artists, enriching the narrative of quilting across generations.
Whitney Harness, executive director of Delta Arts Center, said, “I am truly excited to unveil the ‘Friendships: Colors of Life’ exhibition at this pivotal time of year. In a world that often feels fragmented, this showcase offers a much-needed sense of comfort and connection. It celebrates the warmth of community and the healing power of art, reminding us that together, we can create a mosaic of resilience and hope.
