On Wednesday, Jan. 21, members of Sisters of Bivouac Chapter #530 Order of the Eastern Star, PHA, made a donation to Ashley IB Elementary Magnet School.

They took a 32-gallon container filled with gloves, hats and socks to the school to present to Alicia Bailey, the school’s assistant principal, and Principal Mark Hairston.The school counselor will distribute the items as needed to students.

The chapter’s goal was to try to keep students warm and healthy during these cold months of winter. The chapter is led by Worthy Matron Lisa W. Smith, whose mission remains to find ways to positively impact and change the lives of people in the community.
