Two Rams earned CIAA honors last week.

Jasmine Elum

Lady Rams senior guard Jasmine Elum was named Newcomer of the Week after leading the Lady Rams to a big 89-56 win over the Barton Bulldogs.

Elum scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Lady Rams to the big win. She shot a scorching hot 50 percent from the floor. She was a six-of-12 from the floor with a pair of three-pointers. She added a perfect three-for-three effort at the free throw line. She also added three assists in the game.

Bazemore

WyKevin Bazemore, a junior forward on the men’s squad, was selected as CIAA Player of the Week. He scored 38 points over two games, while also pulling down 26 rebounds.

Winston-Salem State defeated Barton College 82-66, before falling to Shepherd University 103-96 in overtime in the championship game of the 40th Porreco Cup at Gannon University in Erie, Pa.
Bazemore was named to the 40th Porreco Cup All-tournament Team, along with teammate Preston Ross III.
