Eric Benét returning to Triad
Tickets are now on sale for the Aug. 16 Eric Benét concert at Greensboro’s Carolina Theatre.
Benét performed at the Carolina to a near-sold out audience in fall of 2009, and has been high on the list of requests for return performers at the theatre. The concert will be presented with support from WQMG.
Benét has successfully released six albums, including last year’s “The One,” the first album on Benét’s new record label, Jordan House Records. “Real Love,” the first single from the disc, went to the top of the Urban AC charts upon its release.
Benét was nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance for his single “Sometimes I Cry.” He was also nominated for a 2011 Soul Train Award for Best Male R&B/Soul Artist and performed during the award show’s tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire.
Since his 2009 performance at the Carolina Theatre, Benét has celebrated a new marriage to Manuela Testolini and a new baby girl, Lucia Bella. He was previously married to actress Halle Berry, and has one daughter, India, from a prior relationship.
Benét has also been active as an actor, and most recently starred in his first lead role in the feature film “Trinity Goodheart,” which premiered at the American Black Film Festival in July 2011. He also enjoyed a recurring role on the television program “For Your Love” from 1998–2002 and made his film debut alongside Mariah Carey in “Glitter” in 2001.
Tickets to the show, which starts at 8 p.m., are $69.50, $59.50, $49.50 or $39.50 and may be purchased at www.CarolinaTheatre.com or by calling 336-333-2605.
