Goler Metropolitan blesses new health tools

God has continuously blessed the Goler Metropolitan Health Ministry to fulfill its mission: “increasing the biopsychosocial and spiritual health of its members through prayer, knowledge and skills.”

On Sunday, May 19, the Health Ministry’s Seventh Anniversary, Pastor Johnny Ruff conducted a special dedication service for the church’s health care equipment. Goler Metropolitan recently received a free Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED) from the Strive to Revive program, which is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina and the North Carolina Council of Churches.

The Goler Health Ministry and Pastor Ruff attended the Strive to Revive Kick-off luncheon in Greensboro. During the event, the group received a certificate. As a part of the requirements for receiving the defibrillator, three Goler members completed an adult CPR and AED course at the Greensboro Chapter of the American Red Cross.

In addition to the AED, one of the Health Ministry members donated a state of the art first-aid kit.

In his remarks, Rev. Ruff said the donated first-aid kit is a cut above standard household kits.

“Don’t look for band aids and mecuricome among these supplies. This first aid kit contains the items that you would find in a doctor’s office or in the emergency room,” he said.
Carol Henry is the president of Goler’s Health Ministry.
