The 2012 College Night program, presented by the Union Baptist Church Refresh College Ministry, will feature the Howard University Choir (HGC) in concert on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.  Everyone is invited to a night of worship, fun and fellowship. Attendees are asked to wear their favorite college paraphernalia.

Formed on the campus of Howard  in 1968, the Choir is a body of students, alumni and community members dedicated to using the gift of music to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. HGC is a Howard University religious life organization under the auspices of the Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel.

Some of the Choir’s noted alumni include Grammy Award winners Richard Smallwood and Coré Cotton (a member of Sounds of Blackness), Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark of the legendary Clark Sisters and R&B star Ángela Winbush.

The Choir travels extensively throughout the United States and most recently headlined tours to Italy and Slovakia. The choir is currently under the direction of Reginald A. Golden, a fine arts degree candidate from Cleveland, Ohio.
