‘Idol’ audition bus coming to W-S
The “American Idol” audition bus will roll through Winston-Salem on Monday, Aug. 26. A location was not announced before press time. Check www.americanidol.com for location, forms, rules and terms and conditions.
The long running Fox talent competition is gearing up for its 13th season by scouring the country for talented singers. North Carolina has been a gold mine for the show. Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino is from High Point; Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken is a Raleigh native. Memorable contestants Kellie Pickler and Chris Daughtry are also from the Tarheel State.
It is not clear whether any of the show’s celebrity judges — who reportedly include Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban for Season 13 — will be on hand for the local auditions.
Hopefuls can audition at www.americanidol.com, by submitting an audition video online. Entrants should demonstrate their stellar singing ability by performing a song of their choice a cappella. Videos are limited to one submission per person.
As part of its Southern trek, the bus is also expected to make stops in Oxford, Miss.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Knoxville, Tenn.
