WS Chronicle

The local Graduate Psi Phi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. awarded Juan Mendoza-Hernandez with an International High School Essay Contest award and scholarship during the chapter’s annual Achievement Week program. 

Juan is currently a senior at North Forsyth High School. He is a very determined individual who comes from an immigrant family and wants to take his education to the next level at a college or university. His schools of choice are Appalachian State, UNC Greensboro, Wake Forest, and Lenoir Rhyne University. He intends to pursue a degree in business administration.

Juan loves competition and displays this in his position as guard on North Forsyth’s basketball team.

He is thankful to God for all that He has blessed him with this year, and for the sacrifices that his parents have made for him so that he can be in the position to follow his ambitions.

Psi Phi Chapter will submit his essay to the district level to compete for a chance at additional scholarships and awards.
