Local Big Losers to offer advice
Is losing weight one of your New Year’s resolutions?
A trio with a combined weight loss of 400 pounds is offering tips and inspiration. Ken Canion, Angela “The Fat Fighter” Howard and Audretta Hall will be featured at Sunday, Jan. 20’s “Get Up & Move Dance, Fitness, FUN Expo” at the N.C. A&T State University Alumni Event Center.
Organizers say this first-time free expo will provide adults and children with innovative ways to increase their daily level of physical activity. There will be live exercise demonstrations and fitness experts on hand to answer questions and share their expertise.
Canion was featured in the third season of the hit NBC reality show “The Biggest Loser.” The Greensboro resident now helps others shed pounds and negative thinking as a trainer/motivational speaker/life coach.
Hall, who runs her own Triad-based marketing firm, has lost more than 70 pounds and helped others lose more than 1,000 pounds. In addition to her business, Hall is a relationships coach, motivational speaker and certified nutritional counselor. She leads “Taking Care of the Temple” workshops at women’s conferences and churches around the Triad.
Howard practices what she now preaches as a healthy living guru. The health care industry professional has shed more than 200 pounds. She now shares her weight loss success story with thousands as a fitness and nutritional consultant and motivational speaker.
The expo will be held from 2-6 p.m. The A & T Alumni Event Center is located on the school’s campus at 200 N. Benbow St. in Greensboro. RSVP for the event at www.getupandmove2013.eventbrite.com.
