There is a new Lupus Support Group here in Winston-Salem. It’s open to caregivers, advocates, friends, family and fellow Lupus Warriors. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, excluding August, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.

Lupus is a chronic (long-term) disease that causes inflammation and pain in every part of the body. It’s an autoimmune disease, which compromises your immune system that usually fights infections; instead, it attacks healthy tissue and organs.

Lupus most commonly affects your skin, joints, and internal organs, like kidneys and heart. Because Lupus is such a multilayered disease, it affects you and your body in multiple ways. Lupus symptoms often cause flare ups, resulting in increased pain, inflammation and fatigue.

What can you do? Educate, Advocate, Empower. Inspire. You don’t have to have Lupus to be a “Lupus Warrior.” Your wings are there through knowledge, insights, support, prayers and love.

The new Lupus Support Group in Winston-Salem is open to all. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, excluding August, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.

Join us on July 10 at 6:30 p.m, in the Parish Hall at St Anne’s, located at 2690 Fairlawn Drive. (Parking is available in the back lot off Oakland Drive.) The support group is free to join, but registration is required. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Alveria Dove-Ali via email at LFAWinstonSalem2025@hotmail.com.

Put on Purple 💜 and join us! Remember: Every minute, moment and milestone matters. You are not alone in this journey.
