Reneazia Collins and Kendall Cox of Monroe sprint to the finish with (r to l) Sloan Williams, Deonica Reid, and Jahnae Bowman of Winston-Salem Prep pressing a strong challenge. Collins would finish in 1st Place, Sloan 2nd, and Cox of Monroe in 3rd. The Ladies of Winston-Salem Prep would finish in 4th place for the Meet which sponsored 18 events and fielded 19 Midwest Area 1A teams.
Sterling Jones is a quiet master of his talents on the track. This Winston-Salem Prep senior will be running on someone’s college team next year, but Saturday at the Mideast
Regionals he exploded at the finish resulting to 2nd place medals in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. Look for this fierce competitor at NC A&T in the State Finals to capture gold in one of those events.
