NC Black Rep announces 2025 season during volunteer appreciation event

The North Carolina Black Repertory Company (NCBR) announced their 2025 season at their IBFT volunteer appreciation reception on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Carolina Vineyards & Hops. Jackie Alexander, producing artistic director, welcomed the volunteers and thanked them for their service during this year’s International Black Theatre Festival, contributing to its success.

Alexander said, “The 2024 International Black Theatre Festival exceeded all expectations for NC Black Rep; positioning us to expand our educational programming and produce a stellar 2025 season that includes a world premiere, two Black theatre classics, and the regional premiere of a new holiday celebration featuring the sounds of Motown.

He then announced the 2025 season.

August Wilson’s “Fences” will kick off the season and celebrate Black History Month. 

All NCBR productions this season will be held at HanesBrand Theatre at Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, 209 N. Spruce St.

This will be the final production in the 2025 season and a festive and joyful way to bring in the holiday season.
