On May 17 Redemption Hill Church was transformed into a hub of creativity and talent as the Piedmont Plus Senior Games Silver Artists took the spotlight for their annual Performing Arts Show. From breathtaking dance routines to heartfelt vocal solos, the evening was a testament to the depth of the talent of older adults in our community.

This year’s show was coordinated by the new Silver Arts coordinator, Naila Lyles-Elcock. Her team included help from the Adult Recreation Supervisor Anna Moreno and the Tech/AV Director David Stack. With planning and dedication, the stage was set for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

As over 11 acts graced the stage, the audience was treated to a diverse array of performances that captivated hearts and minds alike. The competition was fierce, with each act vying for the coveted title “Best In Show.” Judges were faced with the difficult task of selecting one winner. With a close win by just two points between them, Jazzy Ladies edged out The Prime Time Tappers for the title of Best In Show with 149.9 points!

Jazzy Ladies, led by Robyn Swinton, performed to Hi-Man. These ladies have been participating in the Senior Games for over 10 years and loving every minute of it. They hold classes at Rupert Bell Recreation Center every Monday and Thursday at 4 p.m. and new members are welcome to join in.

As the curtain fell on another remarkable showcase of local talent, we extend our congratulations to all participants. Your dedication, passion and artistry have left a mark on all who attended, reminding us of the power of the arts and the talent of older adults. Here’s to many more years of celebrating creativity and passion in the Piedmont Plus Senior Games/Silver Arts community!
