Open tickets available March 5
Tickets to the 2013 Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest University go on sale March 5.
The tennis tournament will be held Aug. 18-24 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex, adjacent to BB&T Field. Officials say this year’s Open will offer several enhancements, including new courtside seating that features approximately 20 percent more leg room for individual reserved seats and eliminates all “bench seating.” Also, there will be no additional fees to the ticket price, parking will again be free and all box seats are padded for comfort.
“We listen to and learn from our fans every year,” Winston-Salem Open tournament director Bill Oakes said. “Almost immediately after last year’s tournament, we began seeking ways to improve the fan experience for 2013, and more leg room was clearly something our fans desired. We think fans will be extremely pleased with the new seating arrangement.”
The past two years, the Open has attracted some of the world’s best and most popular players, including James Blake, Andy Roddick and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Last year, half of the world’s 50 top-ranked players took part.
“Several of the players from the previous two years already have expressed a desire to return to Winston-Salem, and we’re in negotiations. The players love competing at Wake Forest and have enjoyed their time in Winston-Salem,” said Oakes. “Stay tuned for announcements about our player field in the coming months.”
Tickets will be available March 5 online at www.winstonsalemopen.com, by calling 336-758-6409 or in person at the Wake Forest ticket office at Bridger Field House at BB&T Field.
