Harris looks to lead Carter G. Woodson School into the future
State lawmakers are considering a bill that will change how low-performing schools are chosen for the Innovative School District, the program that identifies which schools are in need of a third-party takeover such as a charter. Last week The Chronicle caught up with Dr. Angela Pringle Hairston, superintendent of the local school district, to discuss Innovative School Districts and the proposed changes.
The 2019-20 JV basketball season featured many up-and-coming ball players from around the county. The Chronicle wanted to honor these young men for their efforts on the court with an All-County Team to show our appreciation for their hard work.
McDonald’s, along with the local organizing team, have partnered with the Hoop It Up 3×3 Basketball Tour owned by former NBA superstar Kevin Garnett, to bring an exciting, fun-filled, community-based weekend to Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. The 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be played at Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville on August 15 and 16.
