Dixie Classic Fair gets a new name?
The Legacy Foundation for Women awarded scholarships to deserving high school students in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools on Tuesday, May 7.
Last week, interim superintendent Dr. Kenneth Simington asked the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners for an additional $40.2 million to fund capital project needs and increase teacher and staff pay across the district.

This past Sunday, the congregation of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church celebrated Mother’s Day. The church held a special service to honor not only the mothers in attendance, but for all mothers everywhere.
It was by chance that Dale Link’s quilting talents were recognized recently with a gold medal at the Piedmont Plus Senior Games/SilverArts competition. Although she had been sewing since she was in junior high school in the 1950s and quilting since the ‘70s, she hadn’t intended to make the rector’s and deacon’s stoles that won her a gold medal.
