Cleo Hill, Jr., current head men’s basketball coach, is transitioning to become the next head men’s basketball coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) announced on Saturday, June 1.
For the first time in history, a woman has been chosen to lead Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). During a press conference held last week, Bonita J. Brown was officially announced as the 14th chancellor of WSSU.
Every two years since 1989 downtown Winston-Salem is transformed into Black Theatre Holy Ground when the N.C. Black Repertory Company hosts the biggest event in Black theatre. And this year with a new name, the International Black Theatre Festival is back July 29 – August 3.
More than 15 friends and relatives from Winston-Salem met up with one another at the Original Gullah Festival in Beaufort, South Carolina, during the Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 24 – Sunday, May 26.
