Cleo Hill, Jr., current head men’s basketball coach, is transitioning to become the next head men’s basketball coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) announced on Saturday, June 1.
For the first time in history, a woman has been chosen to lead Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). During a press conference held last week, Bonita J. Brown was officially announced as the 14th chancellor of WSSU.
More than 15 friends and relatives from Winston-Salem met up with one another at the Original Gullah Festival in Beaufort, South Carolina, during the Memorial Day weekend from Friday, May 24 – Sunday, May 26.
International Black Theatre Festival announces 2024 schedule
Winston-Salem Writers will stage the six winning plays submitted to their annual 10-Minute Play competition on June 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and June 9 at 2 p.m.
Another Winston-Salem legend has been honored for his accomplishments on the court. On May 10, Richard Daniels Jr. was elected into the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Sportsmen Club Hall of Fame.
