Reynolds hosting ‘A Cappella Jam’ concert
“A Cappella Jam for Hope,” an annual concert held by the a cappella groups at Reynolds High School, will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 in the school’s auditorium.
For the past eight years, the event has provided great music while helping worthy local causes. The very first concert raised money for relief efforts that sprung up in the wake of the deadly 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
This year’s Jam will raise money for scholarships for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Summer Enrichment Production, which each year gives students the opportunity to work on and off stage on a high-caliber stage play.
Students who took part in the 2012 Summer Enrichment Production will perform Saturday, as will Reynolds’ Syncopate and Acafellas. Other performers will include singers and groups from Parkland, Reagan, Mt. Tabor and W-S Prep high schools.
College groups from Appalachian State (Lost in Sound and Enharmonix), UNC-Chapel Hill (Tarpeggios and Cadence), UNC-Asheville (Fortissimamas) and Gardner Webb (Acafeelons) will also take to the stage. There is a minimum donation of $5 for admission. The show starts at 7 p.m.
