Ronald McDonald House celebrates grand reopening of Novant Health Ronald McDonald Family Room

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Piedmont Triad (RMHCPT) celebrated the grand reopening of its Ronald McDonald Family Room® (RMFR) at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
The beautiful new family room is specifically designed to provide moms, dads and their families with a welcoming space to enjoy rest, refreshments and additional care resources during their stay at the hospital.
The RMFR, which originally opened in 2008, has been strategically relocated to a more centralized and accessible area within the women’s and children’s unit of the hospital. All maternity care patients and their families are welcome to take advantage of the space, which offers a home-like environment with a well-stocked kitchen and living room area. The family room is also staffed by a team of Ronald McDonald volunteers who provide comfort and holistic support for families in need.
“We are thrilled to expand the reach of our Ronald McDonald Family Room at Forsyth Medical Center to support even more families,” said Chuck Kraft, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Piedmont Triad. “This renovation is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing families with comfort and support while their children receive the care they need.”
“We’re incredibly grateful for our long-standing partnership with the Ronald McDonald House in this community,” said Ann Smith, director of women’s and children’s health at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. “This team appreciates the fact that there is no such thing as a typical birth experience. For these new moms and dads, the RMFR serves as a retreat, a place where they can step away for a few minutes to relax and recharge.”
