‘Sacred Threads: Weaving Stories from the North Carolina Black Repertory Company’

The North Carolina Black Repertory Company (NC Black Rep) reveals its storied archives to revive the spirited costumes from a vast 45-year performance repertory. “Sacred Threads showcases one-of-a-kind costumes, performance ephemera, and visual artworks, offering a unique glimpse into NC Black Rep’s impactful performing arts history. 

Sawtooth School for Visual Art is proud to host this collaborative exhibition to celebrate NC Black Rep’s 45th anniversary and the recent success of the 2024 International Black Theatre Festival.

Sacred Threads is on exhibit in Sawtooth’s Davis Gallery through Oct. 12. Free and open to the public during regular hours, Sawtooth is located at 251 N. Spruce St. in the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts and is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. A paid parking lot managed by the Arts Council is located on Spruce Street and is the most accessible place to park. Metered parking is available on Marshall Street and Poplar Street, and is free on weekends and after 6 p.m. on weekdays.
