Snipes named to All-Region Team

The honors keep coming in for the Winston-Salem State University softball program as fresh-man utility Destiny Snipes was named to the Conference Commissioner’s Association (CCA) NCAA Division II Atlantic/District 2 All-Region team, on May 9.
The freshman from Burlington earned second team honors after a stellar season.
Snipes wasted little time in making an impact on the Rams softball program. In addition to helping the team claim the 2016 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champion and a bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region 1 Tournament, she also earned a spot on the CIAA All-Rookie team.
For the season, Snipes batted .297 with a team-high 31 runs batted in (RBI). Her 31 RBIs were the eighth most in the CIAA. She also recorded 10 stolen bases.
The regional award came after she also earned a spot on the CIAA All-Rookie team.
