Suspect rams police car, evades officers
While trying to elude officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department a suspect rammed an occupied police vehicle and managed to get away on Wednesday morning.
Here’s what we know; Officers with the WSPD were conducting surveillance on the morning of May 29, in the 400 block of Beaumont Street for a wanted suspect. Once the subject was located and identified officers attempted to take him into custody. At that time the suspect entered a white Dodge Charger and intentionally rammed a police vehicle and a pursuit began.
Officers pursed the vehicle to Ebert Road and Oak Grove Road when they lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the pursuit. According to the WSPD the investigation is still ongoing, and the suspects name and the officers involved were released. It is believed that the suspect may have information on the shooting on Cody Drive that occurred on May 18.
