Lady Luck was smiling on the Atkins Camels JV football team last Thursday. The Camels used some late game magic to beat the Villains 14-8.

Last week Winston/Salem Forsyth County Schools’ Interim Superintendent Ken Simington announced the establishment of the Togo West Prize to be awarded to the valedictorian of Atkins Academic and Technology High School.
Four alumni were honored during the Atkins High School Legacy Awards last weekend.
The Atkins Camels won three consecutive state championships in men’s basketball from 1952-54. Six members of those championship teams are still alive and three came together recently to reminisce about those championship runs.
Despite the rainy day, hundreds of people turned out at the Piedmont Earth Day Fair on Saturday, April 13, at the fairgrounds’ education building. Dozens of attendees were there to cheer on the students from Forsyth Early College and Atkins High School who competed in the 4th annual Piedmont Earth Day debate.
Saven Baker, a 6-foot 5-inch offensive lineman, signed his letter of intent to play football for Morehouse College.
Kieran Sawyer of Atkins will play his college lacrosse at Ferrum College in Virginia.
