Rev. Dr. Carlton Eversley, a local pastor and civil rights activist, died Monday morning at the age of 62. Eversley was the longtime pastor of Dellabrook Presbyterian Church and well-respected member of the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem and Vicinity (MCWSV).
To date, the conference has awarded over $250,000 worth of scholarships over the years. This year the conference handed out $16,000 worth of scholarships to 16 seniors from around the area.
On June 28, the local Ministers’ Conference held its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship awards banquet at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
